KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan and coalition security forces captured another key Taliban facilitator with direct ties to insurgent attack networks operating in Kabul and northern Logar province, during an operation Friday.
Reportedly, the facilitator has played a key role in insurgent plans for upcoming attacks in the capital city.
Intelligence reports led the security force to a compound in Pul-e Alam district of Logar province to search for the facilitator. Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the compounds peacefully before the joint security force cleared and secured the buildings. During initial questioning, the security force identified and detained the facilitator along with one of his associates.
The assault force did not fire their weapons and they protected the women and children throughout the search
