MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. – Rain and wind whisked through the North Carolina sky when the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 change of command ceremony was scheduled to take place, Nov. 4.
The ceremony commenced despite the inclement weather as Lt. Col Ryan G. Goulette relieved Lt. Col. Clarence T. Harper III from his duties as commanding officer in the Marine Transport Squadron 1 hangar.
“I struggled the past few days thinking about what to say this very moment,” Harper said. “Since I arrived here the Marines and I have come a long way. We completed everything that came our way and efficiently for that matter. The Marines do their jobs damn well and Lt. Col. Goulette should look forward to this opportunity.”
Prior to this assignment Goulette served as the assistant maintenance section head of the aviation logistics support branch, Department of Aviation, from 2008-2010.
For Harper, an upcoming deployment with MALS-40 as its commanding officer lays on the horizon.
