Afghan killed by insurgents while working in Pakistan

An Afghan man from Rabat village, Paktika province was murdered by insurgents Nov. 1 while working on a road project in the vicinity of Angor Ada, Pakistan.

Cmdr. Aziz of the Bermel Afghan National Police was notified by Afghan border patrol officers that the man was targeted and killed due to his former employment as an Afghan national security forces soldier and current job as a road construction worker from Afghanistan.

The remains were delivered to Aziz, who was joined by U.S. Special Forces to return the body to the family in Rabat.

The incident remains under investigation by ANP and soldiers from Special Operations Task Force – East.
