ZABUL, Afghanistan - Fifteen Afghan National Army soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 205th Corps Scout Platoon participated in weapons training provided by U.S. Navy SEALs in Zabul province, Arghandab district, Oct. 28.

The scout platoon participated in the training in an effort to build their capacity to provide security for Afghans in Arghandab district.

The SEALs trained the scouts in movement drills, weapon manipulation drills, proper reloading techniques and weapon malfunction drills, all while under stressful, scenario-based, battlefield conditions.

“This training provided the ANA Scouts with essential fundamental skills for further combined training events and tactical operations with coalition forces,” said a Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan official. “This training also provided ANA leadership with a better understanding of their own capabilities for future mission planning throughout the Arghandab district.”
