LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq -- The memory of a fallen military policeman will live on in a new working dog kennel and administrative facility dedicated, Nov.11.
Staff Sgt. Arthur S. Mastrapa, a resident of Apopka, Florida, was killed in action as the result of a rocket attack, June 16.
At the time of his death Mastrapa was assigned to the 351st Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Ocala, Florida. He was a U.S. Postal Carrier in his civilian career.
Mastrapa joined the Army in 1992 and served on active duty in Alabama and Germany before reenlisting for the reserves in June 2000.
Mastrapa, known for his dedication to duty, loyalty, courage and selfless service, was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
