KABUL, Afghanistan - Multiple intelligence sources and tips from citizens led Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Forces to the location of an insurgent in Muhammad Aghah District, Logar province, Tuesday.
The combined force surrounded the insurgent location and called-out the occupants of the suspected insurgent's compound with no response. The force then entered the compound and peacefully detained the insurgent while protecting three women and one child.
The insurgent was arrested on a Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan warrant. His alleged crimes include: improvised explosive device facilitation, the manufacturing of IEDs and the planning/participation in numerous attacks against ANSF and ISAF.
The target was taken by Afghan police for processing and further questioning.
