FY27 flu vaccine season schedule announced

FORT KNOX, Ky. — Fort Knox medical officials have announced that this year’s influenza vaccine season will run from Oct. 3 to Dec. 1.

Considered the largest vaccination campaign of the year, the annual flu immunization program is an effort by Fort Knox Medical Department Activity personal to protect the community from harm caused by the flu virus.

Officials say the window for military personnel to receive their vaccines opens Oct. 19-26 during designated unit timeslots, coordinated by their respective units. Civilian employees in key, essential and mission essential positions will receive their vaccines Oct. 26-27 in Bldg. 2020 from 1 to 6 p.m. No reservation is required.

The window for all others to receive their vaccines opens Nov. 2 to Dec. 1, also in Bldg. 2020, from 3 to 6 p.m. on the following days: Nov. 2-6, 9-10, 17-20, 30, and Dec. 1.

Also, the Lincoln Health Department in conjunction with Fort Knox Public Health will host two drive-thru flu clinics Oct. 3 and Nov. 7 in the Knox Hills Leasing Office at Bldg. 1383, 41 West Chaffee Ave., from 10 am. to 2 p.m. The first clinic will focus on those living in military housing who are 19 years and older. The second clinic will be open to all ages.

Three additional vaccinations will be available with prior coordination at the clinic: TDAP, shingles and MMR. Call the clinic numbers below to plan in advance.
