The Department of War's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) today hosted the 13th Artificial Intelligence (AI) Partnership for Defense (PfD), bringing together 17 allied and partner nations to advance collaboration on AI-enabled military capabilities. The forum focused on a critical theme: "The Future of Command and Control – Data Sharing to Enable Unified Mission Success."
The event featured focused discussions on the urgent need to modernize defense operations through data-centric approaches. Mr. Cameron Stanley, the Department of War’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, delivered the opening remarks, setting the stage for a series of expert presentations from global leaders. Participating nations, including Ukraine for the first time, shared insights on topics ranging from building unified data infrastructures to applying hard-won data lessons from the modern battlefield.
“Real-time data sharing is no longer a luxury, but a strategic necessity to out-pace and out-iterate our adversaries on the modern battlefield” said Mr. Cameron Stanley, Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer.
Established in 2020, the PfD has become a vital forum for senior defense officials and technical experts to strengthen collaboration on the acceleration of data, analytics, and AI. The partnership provides a platform to exchange best practices on a broad range of topics, including AI adoption and assurance, data readiness, and human capital development. This international coalition is dedicated to leveraging AI to enhance interoperability and collectively address shared security challenges.
