The Department of War today announced the industry participants supporting Falcon Peak 26.2, a U.S. Northern Command and Joint Interagency Task Force 401 counter-small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) experiment being conducted at Yuma Proving Ground from Aug. 31 through Sept. 25.
Falcon Peak 26.2 is the fourth operational evaluation in the series and the first conducted at Yuma Proving Ground. The experiment is designed to demonstrate new technologies, expand focus on low-collateral c-UAS defeat capabilities, collaborate with key partners, and provide immediate feedback to accelerate development of c-UAS solutions across the Department of War. This iteration of Falcon Peak targets the specific, complex C-UAS challenges unique to the Southern Border. (Northcom)

The companies bring a range of capabilities spanning sensing, detection and tracking, artificial intelligence, command and control, semi-autonomous systems, airborne platforms and low-collateral defeat technologies. These capabilities are part of a layered defense, pairing top-tier technology with adequate training, tools, and permissions to effectively counter drone threats at the Southern Border and at installations across the country.
“Falcon Peak is about moving with urgency against the rapidly evolving drone threat,” said U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, director of JIATF-401. “We are giving industry the opportunity to put innovative technologies in the hands of operators, test them against realistic threats and get immediate feedback on what works, what does not and what needs to change. Our objective is simple: quickly getting the right capabilities in the hand of warfighters to protect our installations and the Southern Border.”
