FORT HOOD, Texas—The 418th Contracting Support Brigade focused on professional development, acquisition lessons learned and workforce recognition during its quarterly town hall August 13, 2026.
Col. Kizzy Danser, 418th CSB commander, led the event alongside James Clift, deputy to the commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Kendall Haynie. 418th is one of three brigades under the Mission and Installation Contracting Command. Leaders emphasized consistency as the brigade’s fourth-quarter focus and reinforced the importance of developing a knowledgeable, reliable contracting workforce.
“Forging elite talent means continually investing in our people and giving them opportunities to learn from experience, strengthen their expertise and grow as acquisition professionals,” Danser said. “That investment directly strengthens our ability to deliver contracting solutions for the Army and the warfighter, in direct support of MICC priorities.”
Professional development included lessons learned from the Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise, or EAGLE, program and the brigade legal team. Presenters addressed contract continuity during personnel transitions, Corrective Action Request procedures and resources available through the Contract Administration Mentorship and Outreach team.
Legal lessons focused on organizational conflicts of interest, documenting contracting officer decisions and properly evaluating key personnel. The discussions highlighted practical steps acquisition professionals can take to strengthen contracting processes and reduce legal risk.
The command team also recognized workforce accomplishments, including third-quarter award recipients, new warrant increases and contracting officer designations.
Danser presented the Army Achievement Medal to Staff Sgt. Zachary Faust for his performance as first runner-up in the 2026 418th CSB and the Army Contracting Command’s Best Warrior Competitions, and for advancing to the Army Materiel competition.
The brigade also welcomed new teammates, recognized departing members and celebrated additions to the 418th CSB family.
The overarching message for the town hall was how the Brigade continues to develop contracting expertise in support of the MICC’s priority of Forging Elite Talent while preparing the workforce to continue delivering contracting solutions across the Army.
