Construction of Fort McCoy’s $55.76 million Collective Training Officers Quarters Project is now more than 80 percent complete as of early September 2026, according to the Army Corps of Engineers.
The project includes construction of two new four-story, 48,000-square-foot buildings in Fort McCoy’s 1600 block. Each building will provide 160 rooms to support officers training and mobilizing at the installation.
Construction began in 2024, and the project remains ahead of schedule. Work currently includes interior finishing, mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation, equipment startup, and exterior site improvements.
The new facilities will replace aging transient officer quarters and provide modern accommodations supporting Fort McCoy’s ongoing role as a major Total Force training and mobilization installation, Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works officials said.
The current projected early completion date is June 15, 2027, with the contractual completion date set for Dec. 31, 2027.
Fort McCoy’s motto beginning in 2026 is “Training the Total Force and Shaping the Future since 1909.” The installation’s mission: “Fort McCoy strengthens Total Force Readiness by serving as a training center, Mobilization Force Generation Installation, and Strategic Support Area enabling warfighter lethality to deploy, fight, and win our nation’s wars.”
