Kenner Army Health Clinic’s Information Management Division recently received the Defense Health Agency Auditability Compliance Award, recognizing the team’s efforts to strengthen accountability, information security and financial audit readiness.
The annual award recognizes exceptional support for DHA financial auditability and information security compliance, including adherence to data reporting requirements and responsible stewardship of government resources.
For Kenner’s IMD team, the recognition follows efforts to address critical information technology control deficiencies, strengthen access management and improve compliance with Department of Defense audit requirements.
“Receiving this award means a lot to our team for all the hard work and dedication,” said Michael Losoya. “It signifies that our KAHC IMD team has demonstrated the highest standard of accountability, reporting discipline and technical remediation across enterprise systems.”
Although much of IMD’s work happens behind the scenes, its impact reaches throughout the clinic. Reliable and secure information systems help staff access the tools they need to provide care while protecting patient information and reducing disruptions to clinical operations.
Losoya said the team has distinguished itself by moving beyond reactive troubleshooting and placing greater emphasis on proactive governance. That approach includes consistent documentation, timely remediation of vulnerabilities, collaboration with clinical and financial staff, and maintaining readiness for audits and inspections.
“Our KAHC IMD team is not just maintaining servers and enforcing rules,” Losoya said. “It is actively functioning as a force multiplier that enhances patient safety, optimizes clinical workflows, and guarantees the security and readiness of defense health infrastructure.”
The recognition highlights work that patients may not always see, but that remains essential to Kenner’s mission—maintaining secure, reliable systems that allow staff to focus on delivering patient care.
