KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan child was killed and one wounded in an improvised explosive device blast in the Now Zad District of Helmand province today.
Afghan National Police members responded to the scene of the blast and transported the wounded child to a nearby coalition combat outpost.
Coalition forces medically evacuated the child for further medical care.
