U.S. Marines and Sailors from the 2nd Marine Logistics Group and Marine Forces Reserve have joined Swedish forces for Exercise Archipelago Endeavor 26 taking place in the Swedish archipelago from August 21 to September 11, 2026, to strengthen combined amphibious capabilities in the Baltic Sea region.
Archipelago Endeavor is a Swedish Armed Forces-led exercise conducted to strengthen bilateral interoperability, littoral defense capabilities, and tactical cooperation in northern Europe. This year's training focuses specifically on bilateral chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense response and medical crisis care.
Archipelago Endeavor 26 underscores the robust security relationship between the United States and Sweden. The exercise highlights the value of the U.S.-Sweden Defense Cooperation Agreement and serves as a prime example of increased European burden-sharing. By integrating highly mobile, specialized capabilities, the exercise provides a visible display of allied cohesion and readiness, serving as a credible deterrent against regional aggression.
