The Norfolk Aviation Logistics Support Center (ALSC)/Aviation Support Detachment team provides warehousing, issuing and maintenance logistics support for 17 squadrons at Chambers Field and Naval Station Norfolk.
According to ALSC Supply Officer and ASD Officer in Charge Cmdr. Adam Pace, the team is a combination of Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center (NAVSUP FLC) Norfolk and Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic (CNAL) Sailors, civilians and contractors.
A team of more than 100 people support six aircraft types: the MH-60S, CMV-22B, E-2C, E-2D, C-2 and MH-53E, covering rotary-wing, airborne early warning/command-and-control, and fleet logistics support aircraft.
“Our mission is to deliver agile, precise, and accountable aviation logistics that directly sustain squadron readiness and operational effectiveness across the Fleet,” Pace said.
He added that ALSC is a recent name change from Regional Supply Office, a transition that “better aligns our mission and identity with our role as a logistics center of excellence.”
The team supports squadron missions with over 20,000 line items valued at more than $650 million. They also manage prepositioned unit kits that support forward-deployed and underway warfighters.

Pace added the workforce reflects a direct collaboration between CNAL and NAVSUP civilians working together, “all under one roof, one mission.”
“That partnership extends into how the command operates day to day: CNAL’s operational and maintenance expertise paired with NAVSUP’s logistics and supply chain rigor gives customer squadrons a single, integrated source of support — from training pipelines to maintenance turnaround to deployment readiness,” Pace said.
He added that it is a model that puts warfighters’ needs first, cutting through traditional command lines to ensure the right parts, in the right condition, reach the flight line exactly when squadrons need them.
“The team takes tremendous pride in this work,” Pace said. “We don’t just support home-guard squadrons through the Fleet Response Training Plan cycle — we directly sustain forward-deployed detachments in combat operations.”
