DAEGU, South Korea – The 403rd Army Field Support Brigade conducted senior leader training for Korean national employees at Kyungpook National University in Daegu, South Korea, Aug. 20.
The event was organized in coordination with Park, Ju-hong, a professor at KNU and a retired Republic of Korea Army brigadier general. Throughout the full day of professional development, four KNU professors delivered presentations on leadership and workplace effectiveness in military and multinational settings. The training sessions covered self-development for enhancing leadership capabilities, communicative leadership in a multinational and multicultural environment, essential legal literacy for military leaders, and leadership for conflict and relationship management in military organizations.
“This was the first leadership session for Korean employees, and I was genuinely impressed by how well it was put together and how valuable the lecture was,” said Park, Yu-mi, community relations assistant, 403rd AFSB. “It is not often that local national employees get to come together in one place, so it was a meaningful opportunity to build a sense of belonging and connection. I hope this session marks the beginning of more classes offered in partnership with KNU, and I look forward to taking part in them.”
In addition to 403rd AFSB personnel, Korean employees from the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command and U.S. Army Garrison-Daegu were invited to participate in the training.
The event was well received by participants and reinforced the brigade’s commitment to leader development and community engagement. The training is expected to serve as a meaningful opportunity to further strengthen the good-neighbor relationship between the 403rd AFSB and KNU.
