WINDER, Ga. – U.S. Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 111th Aviation Regiment, Georgia Army National Guard, held a departure ceremony at Barrow County Airport in Winder, Ga., Aug. 14. Detachment 1, Charlie Company, along with elements of Delta and Echo companies, will support ongoing the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol mission along the southern border.
“We wish them a lot of luck,” said Brig. Gen. Jason Fryman, commanding general of the Georgia Army National Guard. “We know their training and preparation is complete, and we are certainly proud of them.”
The 1-111th mission is in support of units and personnel deployed to the border, where the unit will provide aerial medical transportation capabilities
“I’m looking forward to it,” said Capt. Anthony Cabe, company commander for Charlie, Delta, and Echo company detachments. “This is my second company command, and I’m looking forward to seeing all the prep work the team has put in and to see them execute.”
