HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 6, 2026) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is repaving the parking lot used to access the boat ramp at the Rockland Recreation Day Use Area on the shoreline of Old Hickory Lake beginning Aug. 16, 2026.
To allow crews to mill, pave, and stripe the parking lot, the boat ramp and parking are closing to all traffic and public use during the following dates and times:
· First closure is 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026.
· Second closure is 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, until p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.
During the closures, visitors may use nearby public boat ramps at Walton Ferry Access Area, Mallard Point, Sanders Ferry Park, Saundersville Access Area, and Stark Knob Access Area.
This work is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' ongoing recovery efforts following the December 2023 tornado. The Corps continues to make progress restoring the area and expects to complete the remaining improvements in the coming months.
