FORT BELVOIR, Va -- The Army launched ATIS Education on October 1, 2025, continuing the expansion of the Army Training Information System for Soldiers and Army Civilians. This effort reflects a broader commitment to delivering scalable, accessible and mission-aligned learning solutions across the Army.
ATIS Learning now serves as the official platform for Cyber Awareness Training, a critical requirement focused on protecting the Army from fraud, abuse and cyber threats. This mandatory training is required for all Army Soldiers and Civilians, and its launch on March 23, 2026, highlights how 1.4 million users can get the training they need, when they need it.
“The migration of core training requirements to the ATIS Learning platform represents a significant milestone of modernization,” stated Dr. Sabrina L. Green, supervisory instructional systems specialist for the Army Transformation and Training Command.
“Functional Centers of Excellence have reported a seamless transition, highlighting a friction-free user experience that has successfully enabled over 114,000 user completions while preserving training compliance across the force.”
By transitioning this training into ATIS Learning, the Army ensures a more intuitive learner experience using a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) learning management system, as well as greater system reliability and scalability and improved completion tracking and compliance. This is more than a migration; it is a modernization of how essential knowledge is delivered and retained.
“Our use of COTS solutions for ATIS Learning and ATIS Education has enabled the team to deliver innovative learning capabilities for the Army with speed and efficiency,” said Doug Haskin, project manager for Acquisition Training and Readiness at Capability Program Executive Enterprise Software and Services. “This approach accelerates delivery timelines, reduces development complexity and enables faster access to modern learning tools across the force.”
ATIS Education continues to expand as the Army’s solution for synchronous, instructor-led training. It serves 16 schools and organizations within the Army, and it enables real-time instruction across distributed environments, enhancing collaboration between instructors and learners. As ATIS Education scales, it directly supports the retirement of legacy systems, resulting in measurable cost savings and reduced technical complexity for the Army.
ATIS Learning and ATIS Education form a cohesive learning ecosystem that supports asynchronous self-paced, on-demand learning and synchronous live, instructor-led learning. This dual capability ensures the Army can meet diverse training needs while maintaining consistency and efficiency across platforms.
ATIS Learning and ATIS Education emphasize user adoption and experience. The success of ATIS is not defined solely by its capabilities but by how effectively Soldiers and Civilians can access training, understand expectations and complete requirements with minimal friction. This is why agility, knowledge transfer and human-centered design remain central to the ATIS rollout.
