The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District welcomed Col. Marlon Ringo as its new commander during a change of command ceremony held July 31, 2026, as he assumed leadership from Col. Calvin Kroeger. The ceremony marked the official transfer of command following Kroeger's three years of leadership of one of USACE's largest and most diverse districts.
Presided over by Brig. Gen. George Walter from the Southwestern Division, the time-honored military ceremony recognized the accomplishments of Col. Kroeger while welcoming Col. Ringo to the district. During his tenure, Kroeger oversaw major military construction, civil works, environmental restoration, and flood risk management projects across Texas, as well as critical support to military installations throughout Texas and Louisiana. He departs the district for his next assignment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Col. Ringo brings more than two decades of engineering and leadership experience to the Fort Worth District. A native of Northern Virginia, he earned his commission through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Hampton University, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla, a Master of Military Art and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of operational, command, and staff assignments both in the United States and overseas.
As commander, Ringo will lead a workforce responsible for delivering military construction, flood risk management, water resources, environmental stewardship, and emergency response missions across Texas. The Fort Worth District manages multi-billion-dollar programs supporting the Department of War, federal agencies, and communities throughout the Southwest.
