JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — Military medical professionals from the United States and partnering nations participating in Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026 gathered for a multinational medical symposium at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Starting June 25 2026, and ending June 30 2026. The RIMPAC 2026 Medical Symposium brought together healthcare professionals from participating nations to exchange knowledge, discuss best practices, and strengthen medical interoperability in support of multinational operations. Through presentations and collaborative discussions, participants collaborated and shared their nations specialty and knowledge to build cohesion and approve medical care across the board for all allied nations. They did this while improving team work and cross-country ship The event served as an opportunity for medical personnel representing a variety of specialties to share lessons learned and discuss common challenges encountered during military medical operations. The exchange of these ideas highlighted the importance of cooperation and interoperability in preparing multinational medical teams to support complex missions. These medical forums allowed attendees to engage in discussions focused on operational medicine, expeditionary healthcare, trauma management, and multinational medical planning. The collaborative environment enabled participants to compare medical practices and identify opportunities to improve patient care and readiness across partner nations. The RIMPAC percipients also had the opportunity to apply their newly shared skills to the test in a training and evolution phase of the training. A 2-day application and hands on portion were held on June 29th, 2026, through June 30th, 2026, and had different nations put into practice the medical knowledge they had learned during these presentations and discussions. The symposium was one of several medical-focused engagements conducted during RIMPAC 2026, including subject matter expert breakout sessions designed to enhance cooperation and cross-nation collaboration among participating medical forces. Thirty nations, more than 30 surface ships, five submarines, 15 national land forces, more than 206 aircraft and approximately 30,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC in and around the Hawaiian Islands from June 24 to July 31. As the world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among allies and partners, strengthening collective readiness and supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific. RIMPAC 2026 marks the 30th iteration of the exercise, which began in 1971.
