FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — In alignment with the Army Transformation Initiative, the U.S. Army Combined Arms Command will inactivate the Mission Command Center of Excellence at 10 a.m., June 30, 2026, in the Lewis and Clark Center’s Eisenhower Auditorium. All MCCoE proponent responsibilities, personnel and functions will transfer to the greater CAC enterprise, primarily the new CAC Transformation Integration Directorate.

The event is open to the Fort Leavenworth community and will be broadcast live via the CAC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/USACAC/.

This change is part of a deliberate, Army-wide effort to optimize force structure, improve unity of effort and better align CAC to accomplish its new responsibilities under the Transformation and Training Command. The transition will consolidate and integrate modernization functions across the doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities and policy domains while retaining key personnel and capabilities within CAC. The CAC‑TID is scheduled to reach full operational capability on or about July 8, 2026, contingent on meeting specific milestones.

Established in 2010, MCCoE served as the Army lead for the command and control warfighting function. For more than 16 years, the Soldiers and Army Civilian Professionals of MCCoE made significant contributions to the Army’s mission, shaping key doctrinal publications, supporting force modernization efforts and developing leaders across the force.

Proponent responsibilities for the command and control warfighting function will remain with the Combined Arms Commanding General and will be executed by subordinate organizations of the CAC TID, but most will reside with the CAC TID’s Transformation and Lessons Learned Management C2 Integration Directorate.

As the Army continues to transform for the future, the CAC TID will carry forward MCCoE’s work, further integrating C2 capability development within the broader CAC enterprise.
