FORT BELVOIR, Va. (May 15, 2026) – The Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC) proudly announces that it has been awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade by the Leapfrog Group for the Spring evaluation period. This prestigious national distinction recognizes the medical center’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and its ongoing mission to provide exceptional care.
The Leapfrog Group evaluates hospitals based on 30 performance measures that assess a facility’s ability to prevent infections, medical errors, and injuries. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital rating focused exclusively on safety, offering letter grades from A to F as a straightforward way for consumers to identify the safest hospitals for their care.
"We are incredibly honored to announce that our hospital has once again earned an A hospital grade from the Leapfrog Group,” said Col. Gina Adam, ATAMMC Director. “Even more exciting is that this marks our fourth consecutive ‘A.’ We are aiming for number five, which would place us in the elite category of straight A facilities.”
