AEDC Enlisted Force Council Join Jack Daniel’s to Support Deployed Service Members

ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. – Members of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex Enlisted Force Council volunteered their time and efforts to travel to Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, Tenn., where they assisted in sorting and packing collected items that will be donated to the USO [United Service Organization] at U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Campbell in Kentucky. The USO will then distribute the items to deployed service personnel. According to Robyn LaCook, Jack Daniel Distillery financial analyst and donation coordinator, the collection was coordinated by the company’s veteran support group in order to supply items to service members during a time of the year they may not receive items. “Jack Daniel's BRAVE veteran employee support group invited all Jack Daniel's employees to donate items during a three-week period,” she explained. “In the past, we were advised that service personnel receive a lot during Christmas. I proposed we create the care packs mid-year, which aligns with Armed Services day.” To help prepare the items for shipment, LaCook reached out to Arnold Air Force base for help sorting the donated items. EFC members such as Tech. Sgt. Antoinette Dupree said the group was happy to volunteer their time. “Volunteering to create care packages for our troops overseas was a rewarding experience,” she said. “Knowing that a small gesture from home could brighten someone’s day and demonstrate our appreciation made the effort truly meaningful.” LaCook added that the distillery is appreciative of AEDC’s service members coming out to support their fellow service men and women. “We appreciate their support and they were a huge help,” she said. “At Jack Daniel's, supporting our active and veteran service members is a top priority.”
