Maintaining the Standard: 4960th MFTB Strengthens HR Leadership Across the Pacific

The 9th Mission Support Command, 4960t Multi Functional Training Brigade (MFTB) continues its mission of developing tomorrow’s leaders while providing critical support to the Army and the nation.

In support of this effort, the brigade recently concluded the Advanced Leader Course (ALC) for 42A Human Resources Noncommissioned Officers in the ranks of Sergeant and Staff Sergeant who are preparing for the next step in their professional development. The course ran from 25 February to 28 March 2026 as part of its continuous, ongoing effort to strengthen HR leadership across the Pacific, the 4960th MFTB continues its mission of developing tomorrow’s leaders while providing critical support to the Army and the nation. and included Soldiers from both the Active Duty and Reserve Components serving throughout the USINDOPACOM area of operations.

Active Duty participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Human Resources processes within the Reserve structure, while Reserve Soldiers strengthened their technical and leadership skills alongside their Active Component counterparts. The class was filled with motivated NCOs eager to expand their knowledge and refine the competencies required of HR leaders.

Throughout the course, the students demonstrated strong camaraderie and quickly built cohesive working relationships. Despite challenges posed by recent severe storms during the course, they maintained focus, adaptability, and professionalism, qualities essential to the NCO Corps. Their commitment to Selfless Service was evident as they consistently supported one another to ensure collective success.

This ALC iteration represents a strategically important effort in enhancing HR readiness and leader development across the USINDOPACOM area. It also underscores the growing demand for advanced HR leadership training that strengthens the brigade’s role in developing highly capable NCOs.

For the 4960th MFTB, “Train to Lead” is far more than a motto, it’s a guiding principle and a commitment woven into every aspect of the unit’s mission.
