World War II-era Aircraft Re-enact Pearl Harbor Attack During Scott AFB Airshow

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. - Vintage World War II-era aircraft participated in the "Tora! Tora! Tora!" aerial demonstration by the Commemorative Air Force for the 2010 Airpower Over the Midwest Airshow, Sept. 11, at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

The demonstration re-enacts the Pearl Harbor attack of Dec. 7, 1941. Tora's re-rcreation, officials said, involves many Japanese fighters and bombers and includes smoke, fire and explosions from a pyrotechnics team.

More than 180,000 people are estimated to have attended the two-day airshow that not only had World War II era aircraft, but also aircraft from the Vietnam era as well as the latest aircraft in the U.S. military inventory.
