FORT MCCLELLAN, Ala.— Soldiers from the Mission and Installation Contracting Command secured a clean sweep at the 2026 Army Contracting Command Best Warrior Competition, earning both first- and second-place honors during an awards ceremony May 27, 2026.
Maj. Gen. Doug Lowrey and Command Sgt. Maj. Rachel Harris recognized the competition’s top performers after five days of grueling competition from March 23-27, Fort McClellan, Ala.
2026 ACC BEST WARRIOR: Sgt. 1st Class Eric Garcia, assigned to the 419th Contracting Support Brigade, was named the 2026 ACC Best Warrior champion.
2026 ACC BEST WARRIOR RUNNER-UP: Staff Sgt. Zachary Faust, from the 418th Contracting Support Brigade, earned runner-up honors.
Both noncommissioned officers will advance to represent the MICC and ACC at the Army Materiel Command Best Warrior Competition, May 11-15 at Fort Rucker, Ala. Annual Best Warrior competitions test top tier NCO's physical fitness, technical proficiency and tactical skills, identifying those who best embody the Army profession and Warrior Ethos.
