“I truly credit the Army for where I am in life today. The training, discipline, and camaraderie I’ve gained throughout my service have helped shape both my military and civilian career. Being able to serve my country and continue my family’s tradition of military service is something I’m incredibly proud of.”
Sgt. Cook joined the West Virginia Army National Guard in 2021, driven by the legacy of his grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-great uncles. He chose the Army for the education benefits, as well as the opportunity to work in his chosen field. He attended Advanced Individual Training (AIT) to become a 68E: Dental Specialist, and used that experience to become a dental assistant. Today, in his civilian capacity Cook is West Virginia’s Dental Case Manager, where he facilitates medical readiness by helping service members with their dental issues and concerns.
