Sailors and civilians of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point gathered Wednesday April 1 at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point to celebrate the 133rd birthday of the U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer.
During the celebration, Chiefs and fellow Sailors and civilians heard a reading of the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle’s “C-Note” before the cutting and serving of a ceremonial cake.
Established April 1, 1893, Chief Petty Officers serve as an expert in their military profession, a mentor to junior Sailors and as a bridge between enlisted and officers.
