Strategic Competition Seminar Series: Understanding Competition and Power Shifts

The Marshall Center hosted its latest iteration of the virtual seminar series last week, convening nearly 40 security practitioners worldwide to examine the strategic drivers shaping Russia’s behavior and assess implications for strengthening credible, European-led deterrence and defense.

“GCMC marshalled its unique faculty and networks to bring together military defense diplomats, academic/analyst perspectives, and our wider network to assess Russia’s ongoing full-scale war of destruction in Ukraine,” said Graeme Herd, Ph.D., Marshall Center professor.

As an ongoing platform for engagement, the virtual series enables security professionals to remain connected, analyze emerging security trends, and exchange insights that translate analysis into practical understanding.

Through initiatives like this, the Marshall Center reinforces its role as a trusted U.S.–German forum for sustained strategic dialogue.
