Civil Engineer Corps celebrates Guam Seabee Ball 2026

On 27 February, the Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) major commands of Guam celebrated at the Guam Seabee Ball. The Master of Ceremonies, Lieutenant Judge Stringer IV, lead the ball in celebrating 84 years of the US Navy Seabees, 159 years of the Civil Engineer Corps, and 184 years of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command.

The guest speaker was Admiral Omarr Tobias, who is currently the Commander, NAVFAC Pacific and Pacific Fleet Civil Engineer. He shared stories and spoke to the rich history of engineering in Guam and the Marianas Islands as well as the continuing execution underway today.

The responsibility to host rotates between the CEC major commands on Guam. This year’s host was Captain Blake Burket, Commanding Officer of Officer In Charge of Construction Marine Corps Marianas (OICC MCM). Captain Burket said, “OICC MCM is so proud to continue the tradition and host the celebration of the 84th Seabee Ball. It is an honor to host in our last year as we prepare to decommission this summer.”

Captain Alan Eichelman, Commanding Officer for NAVFAC Marianas, and Captain Robert Stiles, Commanding Officer of the 30th Naval Construction Regiment, are the other CEC major Commanders on Guam and brought full wardrooms to the celebration. Also in attendance was a strong contingent from the deployed Seabee battalion, NMCB-133 the “Runnin’ Roo’s”.
