2026 NMCRS ADFD Kick-Off Breakfast

The Naval Air Station Pensacola Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) launched its annual Active Duty Fund Drive (ADFD) during a kick-off ceremony Feb. 26, 2026.

Each year, NMCRS hosts the ADFD to generate funding and increase awareness for the wide range of services it offers in support of Sailors, Marines, and their families. The ADFD is a chance for active duty Sailors and Marines to give back to their community and provide aid to service members in need.

Per the NMCRS 2025 Annual Impact Report, NMCRS provided 211,000 Sailors, Marines, and family members with $47 million in financial assistance last year, plus access to services such as nursing programs, thrift shops, and financial education workshops.

Last year alone, NMCRS Pensacola assisted 1,137 Sailors, Marines and their family members with $1,164,000 in assistance. These funds were distributed to Sailors and Marines in the form of loans and grants, and assistance with food, rent and utilities, transportation, and other emergency costs.

NMCRS Pensacola Director Joy Barnes explained how the society’s team of volunteers – and the support of uniformed and community partners – make their critical mission possible.

“NMCRS is powered by compassion, and our services are made possible through the dedication of our volunteers and local community members who generously give their time, skills, and support to serve others,” noted Barnes. “For our Sailors, Marines and family members: You have the watch. NMCRS has your back.”

Beyond financial assistance, NMCRS Pensacola also gives Sailors and Marines access to financial guidance, Budget for Baby workshops, a Visiting Nurse Program, a Thrift Shop at nearby Corry Station, and various other programs and services. By donating during the ADFD, Sailors and Marines can provide funds to these initiatives and make a difference in their community.

“The ADFD slogan, ‘By Our Own, For Our Own,’ isn’t just a tagline – it is our call to action,” said Rear Adm. Greg Huffman, Commander, Naval Education and Training Command and the NAS Pensacola ADFD honorary chair. “It speaks to the heart of who we are as a service. It’s a promise that we take care of each other and our loved ones supporting us.”

“Let me be clear: this assistance means readiness,” continued Huffman. “If our people are worried about a bill they can't pay or a family crisis, they can't be ready to train, ready to learn, or ready to fight.”

The ADFD runs from March 1 through April 30. Contributions are tax deductible, and active duty Sailors and Marines are encouraged to donate via allotments, or by contacting their command’s ADFD Key Person for a contribution form.
