KABUL, Afghanistan - Three Afghan children were killed and five more wounded by insurgents in an attack on a coalition combat outpost in the Yahya Khel district of Paktika province, Sept. 6.
No counter-fires were conducted by Afghan National Security or coalition forces.
Coalition forces took the children by air to two different coalition medical facilities for treatment. Three of the children died after reaching one of the medical facilities.
