FORT McCOY, Wis. - Operation Keystone kicked off on Jan. 8, 2026 here at the 88th Readiness Division's Equipment Concentration Site - 67. This maintenance event was initiated by the U.S. Army Reserve's 88th RD to enhance overall equipment readiness within the Division's supported units. In turn, Support Maintenance Companies are able to maximize their Battle Assembly schedule and Annual Training at ECS-67, which will improve equipment readiness and the technical proficiency of maintenance Soldiers.
The 377th Support Maintenance Company arrived at ECS-67 and conducted their Battle Assembly on Jan. 8-11, 2026. ECS 67 is a well-maintained environment that supports transient missions, providing robust storage, maintenance capabilities, cost-effective equipment and hands-on training. According to Mr. Phillip Peterson, ECS-67 Foreman, the facility had more than 330 work orders prepared for the 377th SMC to complete. Coordination between ECS-67 and 377th SMC was made in advance to ensure Soldiers were able to start working on equipment and maximize efforts.
Soldiers provided maintenance to small arms, communications and electronics, allied trades, automotive and ground support maintenance, while expert staff from ECS-67 offered technical refresher training. Approximately 84% of work orders were completed during the first execution phase of Operation Keystone.
The USAR and 88th RD must ensure that equipment is fully mission capable, maintaining a level of readiness, to deploy, fight, and win. A variety of challenges, including understaffing, have created an overabundance of workorders, however Operation Keystone will aid these challenges.
