Welcome to MWR

While scrolling social media, you might find yourself bopping to “We got shades of brown and a lot of Dodge Chargers, streets decorated with some helicopters! Screaming Eagles, we the 101. We got air assault school, that’s simple and fun!” as content creators and singer-songwriters Austin and Colin sing about U.S. Army Fort Campbell. The duo created and performed two of their Songs for Cities to welcome individuals to U.S. Army Fort Campbell and to introduce community members to many of the offerings from Fort Campbell’s Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation in two fun and lighthearted music videos highlighting various aspects of Fort Campbell and Army life.

The idea for this "rendezvous with destiny" came from a member of DFMWR who saw an Austin and Colin video online and discovered the duo were in Nashville, Tennessee.

“The DFMWR team was working on revamping the Army Community Service Relocation Readiness tour video to make it more modern and enticing,” said Kelly Sarles, DFMWR Director. “We also had in our strategic plan to work with local influencers to promote our programs. Austin and Colin were the perfect duo to help us achieve both visions! We were thrilled when they said they were interested in working with a military installation, and enjoyed getting to see the post through their eyes.”

One month prior to filming, Austin and Colin were given a tour of the installation to learn more as the Fort Campbell Garrison Public Affairs Office and DFMWR facilitated conversations and showed them iconic and sometimes humorous elements of Fort Campbell and Army life. The next month was spent planning and coordinating with organizations across the installation resulting in two days packed with visiting various locations to capture video.

“We loved working with you!” explained Austin and Colin via email. “You guys were so knowledgeable and kind and the results were awesome!”

The videos were posted in mid-November and as of Dec. 30, 2025, the collaboration for just one of the videos has resulted in more than 1.628 million views across three social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok – and the numbers continue to grow.

“The videos have been viewed and shared world-wide, with many former Fort Campbell residents remembering their time here and newcomers seeing what they have to look forward to,” said Sarles. “Some of our favorite comments include ‘You should do this at all the bases,’ and ‘best recruitment video ever!’ The local community was excited to see Austin and Colin featuring the military in a humorous way while capturing the essence of what makes Fort Campbell the Best Soldier and Family Experience.”
