CAMP HUMPHREYS, South Korea – U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. James F. Glynn, commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, met this week with United States Forces, Korea, and Republic of Korea Marine Corps key leaders as part of a series of engagements aimed at reinforcing coordination between forward-deployed Marine forces and theater leadership in the Indo-Pacific. The leaders discussed regional security conditions, operational readiness and continued cooperation in support of the U.S.-ROK alliance, emphasizing the importance of close integration to deter aggression on the Korean Peninsula.
During the visit, Glynn met with Marines assigned to U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Korea, where he discussed the strategic importance of their mission, praised their professionalism and readiness, and emphasized their role in deterrence and regional stability. The engagement reinforced senior leaders’ commitment to Marines serving overseas and to mission success.
Glynn concluded his visit with a meeting with the acting Assistant Commandant of the ROKMC, Brig. Gen. Park Il-Sung. The leaders discussed combined training, interoperability and continued cooperation between the two forces, reaffirming a long-standing partnership grounded in mutual trust and shared operational experience. The engagements highlighted the strength of the U.S.-ROK Marine Corps relationship and a shared commitment to maintaining peace and security in the Indo-Pacific.
