“The division is filled with the best Soldiers on the globe [and] where the nation will continue to give the hardest missions,” Tegtmeier said. “It’s an honor to be back in the division with you,”
Tegtmeier returns to the All-American Division from serving as the Chief of Staff at United States Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. No stranger to America’s Guard of Honor, Tegtmeier previously served as both the Deputy Commanding General of Support and Deputy Commanding General of Operations.
Tegtmeier acknowledged outgoing commander Maj. Gen. Work’s efforts. He said Work led the division to a great place and now it’s our responsibility to keep the momentum.
Work assumed command of the All-American division November 17, 2023 while the headquarters was deployed to Europe. Additionally, the division deployed to the southern border and Western North Carolina for Hurricane Helene Relief.
During his speech, he thanked Paratroopers for their efforts during his command and what it meant to him to lead the division.
“Paratroopers, thank you, I respect you,” said Work. “You are a national treasure, unmatched by anything on the planet and all I endeavored to be, [is] the commander you expect and deserve.”
Work will be assigned to XXVIII Airborne Corps, here on Fort Bragg, as Deputy Commanding General.
