Air Force general tours Army PATRIOT sites

CENTCOM AOR—The 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade hosted a visit from the deputy commander of the Air Forces Central Command in Southwest Asia, Aug. 7.

Maj. Gen. John Hesterman visited two PATRIOT battery sites in Southwest Asia, as well as the 3rd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment headquarters and the 69th ADA BDE Headquarters, located throughout the Central Command area of operations.

One of Maj. Gen. Hesterman’s main jobs is the command and control of air operations in support of U.S. Forces within the CENTCOM region. He came to personally observe how 69th ADA and its subsequent units conduct their daily air defense operations.

Maj. Gen. Hesterman toured two PATRIOT sites along with Col. James H. Jenkins, the commander of 69th ADA. The General and the Brigade Commander held discussions pertaining to what could be improved and sustained throughout the sites, and they also discussed some plans for future site improvement and development.
