The security force detained the suspected insurgent at a compound on the outskirts of Kandahar City. No shots were fired, and women and children were protected by the combined security force.

A separate Afghan-international security force killed a suspected insurgent and detained a number of suspected insurgents in Helmand province last night while pursuing a Taliban military commander in charge of fighters in parts of Marjah and Nad 'Ali Districts of Helmand province.
