Alumni Scholar Presents on the role of Public-Private Partnerships in Cybersecurity

Megghi Pengili, Ph.D., alumni scholar, presents her research on the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening cyber resilience in the Western Balkans in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, May 15, 2025.

Pengili emphasized that national cyber resilience requires more than modern technologies, it demands cooperation and change at the strategic and organizational levels.

"Public-private partnerships are not just procurement tools for modernization, they are engineers of transformation," she said.

Her work contributed to a knowledge gap by mapping regional cyber threats, partnership structures, and governance frameworks in a region where data is scarce and fragmented.

As the first alumni scholar from Italy, Dr. Pengili also served as a co-seminar leader for the Program on Cyber Security Studies, which wrapped up May 15.
