Permann was selected by his command due to his constant dedication to the mission success while serving as section Leader, jumpmaster and embarkation chief for 1st Platoon Air Distribution Company. His responsibilities include providing logistical planning, management, and the execution of Air Distribution Company operations. As a Jumpmaster, Permann has conducted, planned, executed, and supervised over 12 cargo and personnel drops within the past three months. When asked what advice he would give to junior Marines, Permann said, "Stay motivated and never forget what it felt like when you first earned your Eagle, Globe, and Anchor."
