The 146th Expeditionary Signal Battalion (ESB) conducted joint reception, staging, onward movement and integration (JRSOI) operations at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center during Florida’s response to Hurricane Debby, Aug. 3-7.
A JRSOI operation receives emergency response forces that are arriving to help with missions in the area they are visiting. The 146th’s Charlie Company and Headquarters Company received 73 Soldiers and 32 vehicles assigned to the 1053rd Transportation Company from Bennettsville, South Carolina, and ensured those visiting Soldiers received the support they needed to assist the Florida Guard during its Debby response. Specifically, the 1053rd’s Soldiers received fuel and vehicle maintenance, as well as lodging and meals during their time in Camp Blanding, enabling them to continue their mission.
The 1053rd TC left Camp Blanding and attached to 3rd Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, which responded to several impacted areas on Florida’s west coast.
After the 1053rd completed its mission, its Soldiers passed through Camp Blanding again where the 146th ESB provided its previous services as those South Carolina Soldiers prepared to return to home station, Aug 7.
The 146th ESB, a subordinate organization within the 50th Regional Support Group, is a Florida Army Guard unit headquartered in Sarasota, Florida.
