Iraqi police Arrest five Suspected Terrorists

BAGHDAD - Iraqi police arrested five suspected terrorists, including a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader in northern Iraq, during combined operations today, March 12.

In Tikrit, Iraqi police and U.S. advisors arrested the suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader for the northern cities of Tarmiyah and Mushada. He is believed to be responsible for numerous bombing attacks. Police also arrested two of his associates.

In Latifuyah, south of Baghdad, Iraqi forces and U.S. advisors arrested a man suspected of acquiring funds and vehicles for an al-Qaida in Iraq cell believed to be responsible for multiple assassinations, robberies and kidnappings of Iraqi government employees. Police also arrested a suspected accomplice.
