FORT NOVOSEL, Ala. — Maj. Gen. Michael McCurry, U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence and Fort Novosel commander, announced the 2023 Lt. Gen. Ellis D. Parker Awards winners during the Army Aviation Senior Leader Forum awards dinner held Jan. 24, 2024.
The Lt. Gen. Ellis D. Parker Award annually recognizes the top Army Aviation battalions (or equivalent) in four categories based on unit mission, and is named for Lt. Gen. "Don" Parker, an Army Aviation pioneer.
Combat Support Category and overall winner: 2d Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, 16th Aviation Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington
Combat Category: 1st Battalion, 160th Aviation Regiment (Special Operations), Special Operations Aviation Command (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Combat Service Support Category: 404th Support Battalion, 4th Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.
Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) Category: Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion, U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
