Cmdr. Javier Agraz, along with Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Alexis Guerra and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Mary Nyangenya, provide medical aid for participating members of Obangame Express 2022 (OE22), a multinational maritime exercise hosted by the Senegalese Navy and supported by U.S. Africa Command. Agraz is the Senior Medical Officer for the exercise and came from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training in Rota, Spain, along with Guerra and Nyangenya. However, when not treating patients in the clinic, the medical team goes shipboard to train Senegalese sailors, and other foreign service members, critical lifesaving skills such as tactical Combat casualty Care and Basic Life Support. The goal of the medical team is to help build partnerships that promote communication and the ability to work together with other nations to help achieve a common goal: saving lives.
