Col. Agustin Carrero relinquished command of the 710th Operations Group to Col. Samantha Pitman during a change of command ceremony at Peterson Space Force Base, Oct. 14..
Pitman is a space and missile officer who has served as a missile combat
crew operator, GPS satellite vehicle operator and spacelift officer. Prior
to taking command of the 710th OG, Pitman was the commander of the 42nd Combat Training Squadron, which trains and certifies instructors and assists with the development of space-based mission courses.
Carrero vacated the group commander position he held since November 2019 to fulfill his new role as the director of Reserve forces and manpower at Headquarters U.S. Space Command at Schriever SFB.
