Hosted at the CPIC by Soldiers of the 318th Public Affairs Operations Center, Mullen arrived in Iraq Friday and told reporters he is confident that Iraq will hold elections on March 7. The election, originally scheduled for January, was postponed after Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al Maliki vetoed the Election Law.
Visiting U.S. forces in Basra and Talil before coming to Baghdad, Mullen said he was confident the U.S. drawdown will begin on schedule and be completed by December 2011.
