U.S. Army Reserve Soldier Advances to Specialist During Annual Training

Pfc. Lukas Sparks, of Lancaster, Ohio, a mass communication specialist assigned to the 367th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, Whitehall, Ohio, is advanced from the rank of private first class to specialist during annual training, Fort McCoy, WI, Aug. 8, 2022. Sparks received this advancement by demonstrating leadership potential amongst his peers, and earning the trust of his commander Capt. Richard Harris, who recommended him for this promotion.

Sparks enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in July 2020 with aspirations to further his civilian education, gain leadership skills and expand his life experiences by stepping outside of his comfort zone.

“I appreciate the confidence my unit has in me and it's humbling that my leadership recognizes my potential as a public affairs professional.” Said Sparks.
