4th SFAB Advisors Head to Europe

FORT CARSON, Colorado — Soldiers from the 1st and 6th Battalion’s, 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) held a joint color casing ceremony in preparation for their upcoming winter rotation to the EUCOM region.

The 4th SFAB aims to establish sustainable partnerships with the land forces of Georgia, Latvia, North Macedonia, Poland and Romania, beginning with six-month rotations.

“The 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) provides specialized and experienced, purpose driven U.S. Army leaders that aim to increase interoperability in support of USAREUR-AF security cooperation objectives,” said Col. Robert Born, commander of the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade. “Our team of advisors are fully prepared for our upcoming deployment to Europe this fall. We are ready to train with our allies and partners, as well as add 4th SFAB Advisors to the 70 year history of the U.S. Army’s presence in Europe.”

The 4th SFAB returned from their nine month deployment to Afghanistan in January of 2021. This deployment marks their transition to their new mission of being aligned with the European theater.

Advisor teams from the 4th SFAB will rotate every six months in order to provide a persistent presence of Soldiers in their respective countries.
The Advisor teams consist of Soldiers that are experienced leaders from the maneuver, combat engineer, signal support, intelligence, medical and logistics career fields.
