FORT KNOX, Ky. – Garrison Commander Col. Lance O’Bryan signed the annual Fire Prevention Proclamation at Fire Station No. 1 Sept. 27, honoring a more than 100 year-old tradition.

The first proclamation was issued in 1920 by President Woodrow Wilson to signify the yearly Fire Prevention Week each fall. This year’s theme is ‘Learn the sounds of fire safety,’ which is devoted to educating the community about actions which can help keep themselves and those around them safe.
